OOTD: In the park

Tags: , , , , , , ,

Today was a sunny day, so me and my flatmate decided to go to the park to read a bit. She took her camera with her and said she wanted to take more portraits and test the lenses and whatnot.. so of course I took that as an opportunity to have my outfit photos taken ;).

I wore this ‘beachy’ dress from Target, that I got on my trip to NYC in March. Haven’t been able to wear it yet, since it has been so cold in here. I teamed it up with my pink Roxy flip flops and my quirky glasses necklace. I think the look is suitable for a relaxed day in the park :)

Dress: 1, Pure Energy, Target | Flip flops: Roxy (same, but darker pink) | Sunnies: old prescription ones from Finland (similar) | Necklace: Forever 21 (similar) | Headband: Forever 21

Have you been able to enjoy the sun yet?

The colours of the collection are divine, and the pieces are everything that a fashion loving fat girl can want.. bustiers, miniskirts, chiffon, sheer, cute prints.. designed for us to be proud of our bodies and show them off with the clothes! We need pretty and sexy pieces too, and Domino Dollhouse is giving us just that!

This dress is not available yet, but it is my favourite piece from this collection.

Fatshion Faceoff: Evening dress

Tags: , , , , , , ,

Here we go: it’s Wednesday and Fatshion Faceoff time! Fatshion Faceoff is a weekly challenge that I do with 5 other fatshion bloggers from around the world, in the challenge we choose a similar item of clothing and we all style it in our own way. This week’s challenge was chosen by Mouna, and she chose an evening dress.

Dress: swapped with Dani (similar, similar) | Belt: black ribbon | Heels: Bianco (similar) | Lippy: Diego Dalla Palma Il Rossetto 32, Orange Pink | Nails: PopBeauty Nail Glam Turquoise | Bag: Target (present from Dani)

I added pops of colour to the black outfit by using turquoise nail polish, and this awesome bag that I got from Dani as a present. I simply love that we know each others tastes and can send surprises to each other. And she really has been there for me during this difficult time that I’m having, so THANK YOU my friend, I love you <3!

So, I really like this outfit, and I’m happy that I finally got to wear this dress! I swapped it with Dani (yes, her again, haha) in January I think, and it has been waiting in my closet for me to wear it. I love the velvety feel of this dress, and the collar as well, it reminds me of grecian style. I need an invite to some party where I could actually wear this in public! Any parties anyone?? ;)

Now go and see how the other Fatshion Faceoff ladies wore their evening dresses!
Dani: DIY Fatshion
Mhairi: Lilybobombs Lovely Lumps
Molly: Molly Pocket
Mouna: Brussels Fatshion
Olivia: Wait Until The Sunset

New Look 7 Days 7 Dresses competition!

Tags: , , , , , ,

I saw this post by Fashion Champagne about her & New Look‘s AMAZING dress giveaway and immediately wanted to enter. I do realise that she has linked only to regular size dresses, but I’m taking a leap of faith and hoping that Inspire is included in this as well. New Look has done a lot of good concerning their Inspire range (my thoughts and thank you’s are after the images), so I hope that means that my entry will be included in this giveaway too :). Either way, I have loved doing this post even though (and maybe because) this has been the most time consuming of my posts ever.

First of all I chose the dresses I wanted to wear the most (wasn’t an easy choice, since New Look really has amazing stuff at the moment). Then I took photos of myself in my underwear wearing the accessories I wanted for each dress. After that I photoshopped the dresses on me, and after that I cut myself out of the pics and photoshopped myself in a place where I’d like to wear the dress. I think I did quite alright, thinking that I only had my laptop and the touchpad as a mouse ;). Oh, and no high-res images of the dresses.

So, here’s my week of New Look dresses:

Koko Blue Contrast Mullet Hem Dress

Ruby’s Closet Multi Print Bodycon Dress

Inspire Navy Floral Print Dress

Inspire Black Asymmetric Dress

Inspire Black Lace Back Sleeveless Dress

Inspire Navy Stripe Maxi Dress

Inspire Navy Lace Dress

These 7 dresses are just my favourites of all great things that New Look has to offer for us plus size girls. In my opinion New Look Inspire is the best plus size range available at the moment. They are offering us items that we want: bright colours, bodycon dresses and skirts, pretty lace dresses, crazy patterned leggings, boobtubes, miniskirts, skinny jeans, coloured jeans, etc. The Inspire range give us items to feel good and be sexy and pretty in, NOT black sacks to hide in. That’s what we have wanted for quite a while. I also love the fact that New Look has finally added Inspire to their main navigation on their site, and it’s no longer hidden somewhere in the subnavigation. So thank you New Look for taking Inspire next step further and embracing the range and your plus sized customers.

So my readers, if you’re not familiar with New Look’s Inspire range yet, or if you haven’t checked out their new collection, please see this video and also go to the site and see the collection for yourself. It has truly amazing stuff in it!
