Panache Sculptresse

Tags: , , , ,

Hello lovelies,

Panache Lingerie started a new range for plus-size women a while ago, called Sculptresse. Ever since I heard about the range, I have wanted to try it, as I love Panache bras. So when Best British Bloggers contacted me about reviewing a set from Sculptresse range, I didn’t hesitate at all in saying yes! The range has 5 different sets: Bellise, Pure, Pure Lace, Rosie and Willow. Only Bellise and Willow come in my size (38J/40HH) and I went with Willow. It wasn’t an easy choice, and will definitely get Bellise at some point too – it’s gorgeous.

I got the Willow bra in 40HH and the bottoms in 26, and the bra fits perfectly. The band is a little tight (in my experience Panache usually has tighter bands compared to other brands), so I’m happy I didn’t go for 38 band. The central core sits flat against my chest and the cups fit gorgeously around my breasts – no complaints about the fit of the cups at all. The bottoms are a little big and sag slightly where my bum meets my thighs, so I guess I could have gone for 24.. but then again those might have been a little small around my belly. This is only a little sagginess though, and it doesn’t bother me at all when I’m wearing them :).

The colour is a stunning Raspberry, and the lace print is so pretty. Part of me wishes that it was real lace though, but I understand that then the bra wouldn’t be as firm and controlling as it is now.

All in all I really love the set, and I hope that in the future collections Panache will make them all in bigger cup sizes too. (Although my wallet would suffer if there was more than two options for my size, haha.) If you are interested in purchasing this pretty Sculptresse Willow set , the bra and bottoms are available at Simply Be. I definitely recommend that all ladies within their size range give Sculptresse a try!

New York, Day #3

Tags: , , , , , , ,

Hello lovies,

First thing on the 3rd day of our New York trip, Dani and I met with Olivia and Mouna for our SATC-Fatshion Faceoff photos, which were a great fun! (See the post here, if you haven’t already.) After that Dani, Mouna and me headed up to the Bronx for some shopping. The trip took us ages, but it was definitely worth it. We visited Dressbarn, Payless, Ashley Stewart, Fashion To Figure, Avenue and… Torrid! I was so excited about visiting a Torrid store for the first time, and it was really amazing. We spent hours in there, trying on loads of stuff, and I ended up leaving with quite a few new pieces, like polka dot skinny jeans – whoo! Successful shopping trip indeed.

On the day before Dani and I had visited Old Navy, and seriously their Clearance section is like crack to me :D! There’s always some amazing pieces in XXL’s there, and usually some plus-size items too (pieces that people have ordered online and then returned to store, as the stores unfortunately don’t carry the plus-size range). On that day they also had 50% off ALL clearance items, so I went a bit crazy. I got 2 dresses, a skirt, shorts and 4 tops.. for a bargain price of $45 total! Amazing, right? So I wore the chambray skirt I got from there for our Bronx-trip. I teamed it up with a crop top (yes, again) and a pair of TOMS for a cute but comfy look :).

Crop top: 20, Primark (similar at Topshop, similar at New Look) | Skirt: US 20, Old Navy (similar at New Look Inspire, similar at Simply Be, similar by Primark) | Shoes: TOMS | Bag: Primark (similar at Topshop) | Glasses: Select Specs

Fatshion Faceoff: High-waisted skirt

Hello lovelies,

Once again it’s Wednesday, and I’m sure you know it’s Fatshion Faceoff time! If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). This week’s item was chosen by Olivia, and she chose a high-waisted skirt.

You might have noticed that every skirt that I own is high-waisted on me, so this was an easy post to do ;). I got this skirt from a goodie bag at the FFFW Indie showcase (actually I think it was from one of the Scarlett & Jo -girls goodie bag, but since it was so massive – they gave it to me, haha), and it’s several sizes too big for me, but I LOVE THAT. It doesn’t give me a muffin top and it reaches the floor.. all that I want from a maxi! The crop sweater is actually a size 16 from Topshop, and it’s currently on sale for only £10.

Skirt*: US 26-28, Plus Moda (similar at New Look Inspire) | Crop sweater: 16, Topshop | Shoes: Converse | Bag: Primark (similar at Urban Outfitters) | Necklace: Forever 21 (similar at Claire’s) | Lightning bolt bracelet: Forever 21 | Other bracelets: Evans (similar at Lane Bryant) | Glasses: Select Specs | Lippy: Natural Collection Moisture Shine in Crimson – available in Boots (similar by MAC)

Haha, can you see that I’m obsessed with crop tops and maxis nowadays? ;) Anyway, let’s go and see what kind of skirts the other girls are wearing!

Dani: DIY Fatshion (USA)
Mhairi: Lilybobombs Lovely Lumps (UK)
Mouna: Brussels Fatshion (Belgium)
Olivia: Wait Until The Sunset (Australia)

Hey lovelies,

The first Full Figured Fashion Week event that Dani and I attended was the Denim & Diamonds-party on Monday evening. It was great to finally meet bloggers who I had talked with online, like Olivia and Rebecca, and to see some great people again, like Mouna, Marie Denee and the always lovely Evans-ladies.

I wore a black Live Unlimited top, New Look Inspire denim shorts, Evans heels, some full-on bling from Primark & Matalan, and borrowed a Forever 21 bag from Dani.

Top*: 24, Live Unlimited (similar at Evans) | Shorts: 26, New Look Inspire | Heels*: Evans | Bag: Forever 21 (similar coloured at ASOS and New Look) | Necklace: Primark (similar at ASOS) | Ring: Primark (similar at ASOS) | Earrings: Matalan (similar at ASOS) | Glasses: Select Specs | Lippy: Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Fuchsia Flash (UK link, US link)
